How to Do

How to do Walking Lunge with Dumbbells

The dumbbell walking lunge should begin with good posture to avoid injury. Brace the spine by drawing your lower abdomen inward. Your core muscles should be activated to support your posture as you perform the exercise.

If any pain is experienced, immediately stop the dumbbell walking lunge.

Beginning

Beginning Walking Lunge with Dumbbells

1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your back straight. You can keep your hands by your sides or on your hips.

2. With your right leg, take a step forward, putting your weight on your heel.

3. In a lunge position, bend the right knee and drop it until it is parallel to the floor. Take a breather for a beat.

Movement

Walking Lunge with Dumbbells Movement

1. Move your left foot forward without moving your right leg, then repeat the movement on the left leg. In a lunge position, pause with your left leg parallel to the floor.

2. Repeat this exercise, walking forward as you lunge with your legs alternated.

3. Perform 10–12 reps on each leg. Perform two to three sets.
