According to the American College of Sports Medicine, all healthy adults that fall between the ages of 18 and 65 should at the very minimum partake in a moderate level of physical exercise for at least 30 minutes at a time and for at least 5 days a week.

An alternative to this is working out at a more intense level for at least 20 minutes at a time for at least 3 days a week.

Of course, a combination of the two can be explored, keeping in mind the importance of meeting the minimum time amounts so that you can reap all the great benefits that exercising can offer.
