How to Do
The light basketball non-game should begin with good posture to avoid injury. Brace the spine by drawing your lower abdomen inward. Your core muscles should be activated to support your posture as you perform the exercise.
If any pain is experienced, immediately stop the light basketball non-game.
Beginning
1. Two hoops should be placed at opposing ends of the court (shown as shaded blue and white circles). Each team has one player in the hoop.
2. The game allows players to dribble or pass the ball, and it is a great way to learn stopping and pivoting.
Movement
1. Shooting the ball to a teammate positioned in the hoop is how teams score. When a team scores, the ball is sent to the opposing team at half court, and the two players standing in the hoop can swap with a teammate.
2. If an opponent snatches the ball, they can try to score right away. The game can be played for a fixed amount of time or for a specific score.
ACSM Recommendations
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American College of Sports Medicine advocates that you take part in a combined 30 minutes of moderate to intense aerobic or anaerobic activity most days out of the week.
What does that mean for you?
Based on the intensity and your typical hour-long strength training and cardio program, that usually works out at three to five sessions each week.
