How to Do Abductor Stretch While Standing, Outer Hip
The abductor stretch while standing outside the hip should begin with good posture to avoid injury. Brace the spine by drawing your lower abdomen inward. Your core muscles should be activated to support your posture as you perform the exercise.
If any pain is experienced, immediately stop the abductor stretch while standing outer hip.

Beginning Abductor Stretch While Standing
1. Place your right hand on the wall or a chair as you stand.
2. As you lift your left leg to the side, keep your hips looking forward.
3. Hold the position for 5 seconds.
4. Return to the starting position carefully.
5. Repeat on the opposing side after 8 to 15 repetitions.

Abductor Stretch While Standing Movement
1. Start by standing tall with a straight spine and your shoulders pulled down your back and your chest thrust out. Your feet should be about shoulder width and your arms should be straight down to your sides.
2. Take one leg and bring it over the other so your legs are now crossed. Both feet should be facing forward with about six inches between them.
3. With your hips, bend, and reach straight down, away from the crossed leg.
4. Come down as far as you can in a slow and controlled motion and then come back up.
5. Repeat.
